Review of Breakdown (1997) by Alysia V — 23 Mar 2009
For what it is, I think it's done well. I mean, it's suspenseful and there are a few scenes that make you hold your breath with anticipation of what's going to happen. And my family and I use the "is that fully loaded?" line quite often.
:) I think J.T. Walsh plays a good "villian" and even Kurt Russell is decent in it. I've seen this movie a LOT and I still always enjoy watching it..so I think that's always a good sign.
Sure, we all know that you should never let your wife get into the car/truck with some complete stranger in the middle of the dessert & we find ourselves yelling at Kurt Russell in the first 10 minutes of the film going, "you idiot!" but c'mon.
..if he didn't let her get into the truck then we wouldn't have a movie to watch now would we?
