Review of Breakdown (1997) by Mark N — 13 May 2012
While having much in common with the 80/90's fad for taught kidnap/chase thrillers Breakdown successfully builds paranoia and tension in a broadly realistic way that draws you in, despite a lack of adding anything new.
Russell is great as the wronged/hunted man and drives the plot very effectively from start to finish.
