Review of Breakdown (1997) by T L — 08 Aug 2014
So with the wonder of Netflix I can know re-watch movies that I have long forgotten - usually with good reason. Breakdown is one of those forgotten 90's movies that can usually be found at the bottom of the Wal-Mart dvd bargain bin.
So what is there to say about a sub-par thriller where a husband manages to lose his wife in the American desert (I think somewhere in Nevada) to a bunch of hillbilly thugs? As it turns out not much. The thing that stood out to me the most was the stunts - its been a long time since I've seen quality car chases in movies, and some of the truck sequences where pretty impressive. The story itself isn't much to write home about, but it's just good enough to keep the movie going.
I miss the 90's and there's probably a bunch of other movies out there that I've forgotten about - and I'm sure that in time Netflix will refresh my memory.
