Review of Bread and Butter (2014) by Jenny W — 07 Sep 2015
A charming, awkward, and genuine comedy about romance and self-actualization. The performances are understated yet effective, and Christine Weatherup's Amelia is likable in spite of her naiveté and flaws.
I like that Amelia and her suitors have genuine flaws that are not merely adorable "quirks," but which have consequences. The direction is heartfelt and authentic, and it's clear that director Liz Manashil, her actors, and her crew felt very strongly about the story they were telling.
