Review of Breach (2007) by Ld P — 14 May 2009
As thrillers go this is a pretty good one. Most I have seen are pretty dull and dreary. In Breach there is never a dull moment and of course especially interesting since its based on the true story of Robert Hanssen arrested in Virginia in 2001.
He is now serving live term in Florence Colorado Prison. Chris Cooper is especially good in this role. Its beautifully filmed. Bye the way if you have not seen Cooper in his last role Adaptation -don't miss that one he was really superior.
I was not surprised he won a Oscar for that role. In Breach the plot moves nicely and is tight. Chris Cooper and Ryan Phillippe are both excellent. This is a very well constructed enjoyable believable thriller.
three or four stars.
