Review of Breach (2007) by Michael H — 29 Aug 2008
A terrific piece of work that transcends its "based on a true story" origins to become a gripping psychological thriller; it ingeniously balances cold realism with genuine suspense. Phillippe is good, but Cooper, as the beguiling bundle of extreme contradictions that is Robert Hanssen, is utterly mesmerizing.
Billy Ray's direction is excellent.
