Review of Braveheart (1995) by Skye T — 11 Mar 2014
Certainly the film is largely historical fiction, but it's in the helming of it that you find its true strength. Randall Wallace's script was an early inspiration for me to attempt writing as a median; the dialogue is nearly poetic, while John Toll's cinematography and James Horner's masterful score are absolutely breathtaking.
I may be slightly biased towards the film, but I still watch it with the same sense of high adventure and emotional gratification I did when I first saw it at age 15.
