Review of Brave (2012) by Mac T — 17 Jun 2018
I'm a bit mystified by some of the negative reviews which talk about how "cliched" and "Disney" this film is. Which film did they see? It's as if they hear the word "princess" and jut stop paying attention.
The cliche would be for the film to be about the princess finding her prince, but it's not. The cliche would give us a menacing villan, but there isn't really a villan either. What we get is a film which has some pretty sophisticated things to say about family relationships and pride, and manages to say them in a very entertaining way with plenty of wit and beautiful scenery along the way.
