Review of Brave (2012) by Cristian M — 11 Dec 2013
Pixar returns with a film set around Ireland with it's unusual way of story telling full of queens, princesses, kings, princess, and even bears. How does the film hold up with it's other great Pixar films?
Brave. The film centers around a young girl who is destined to be queen after her mother and father who are the rulers of the land pass but she doesn't want to take over the job. She wants to be free from all the rules and responsibilities, until her mother decides it's time for her to choose her own king so all the clans from the land come to the event with their sons. She then chooses an advent so she may compete for herself to show her mother that this isn't the life she wants, so she proves it and she and her mother get into a fight and she runs off. From there we have our movie.
As for the film itself, it actually isn't that bad. I rather enjoyed the story from it, it has heart and makes you wanna hug your mom after the credits role. This story is very different from any other Pixar films and I think that is why not many didn't enjoy the flick. I say watch it so you can have your own opinion on it and maybe you'll be surprised on how I was.
What I like about it is that it had a girl as the main protagonist and it isn't some toy or monster which by the way, have all been male. First time a female is in the lead for a Pixar film, that's an automatic awesome and new for me.
Liked the film, wondering if they'll make a sequel. They made one for Cars and no body enjoyed cars so they don't really have nothing to lose.
