Review of Bran Nue Dae (2009) by Malcolm D — 18 Jan 2010

When I watch a musical I try to keep an open mind but in truthfulness I think their lame at scenes when they are supposed to be deep and meaningful and I think the experience is up to whether you like the music or not.

Bran nue day is purely for entertainment purposes and isn?t a movie centered around racial relations and social issues although it does touch on them. Its an acquired taste and I unfortunately couldn?t get into it, the humor is pretty tasteful at times and some of the songs are memorable but overall for me there isn?t a lot to sink your teeth into as the story can only be described as try hard and the acting is over the top which gives the feel of a little kids movie, its patronizing and it annoyed me so ill give it 2 stars purely for the humor and some of the songs.
