Review of Brain on Fire (2017) by Magali R — 03 Dec 2018
Brain on Fire is a movie directed by Gerard Barrett. Gerard wasn't really known until he directed the movie Pilgrim Hill. This movie brought him to prominence. Brain on Fire is based on a true story. This case was first seen on Susannah Cahalan, a New York journalist. She wanted the world to see how something that may seem small could the complete opposite.
. The main character is played by Chloe Grace Moretz or in the movie known by Susannah Cahalan. She is a journalist in the making. Out of nowhere voices and seizures starting taking over her body. She acts as if she was a little child. Her parents took her to a doctor and according to him nothing was wrong. He claimed that it was because she was partying and drinking too much but her parents knew that that was impossible because Susannah didn't drink as much as the doctor was making it seem. As days passed by, she got worse and her parents were becoming more worried. They were taking her to numerous doctors and all of them said the same thing. Nothing was wrong according to them. Till at point that Susannah was immovable. The doctors best solution was for her parents to put her in a mental institute but her parents were in denial. They didn't believe the doctors. They proclaimed something else was going on in her head to make her act like that. This movie teaches us a different aspect that many of us don't take time to think about. All the doctors were going the easy way to find what was wrong with Susannah. None of them were thinking widely enough to find the actual cause of her actions. They were going with what came up first. This movie shows us that we should not immediately go with what comes up first because rarely that could be the correct answer or in other words we shouldn't take the easy way out just because it might seem easy then.
