Review of Brain Dead (2007) by Mickibrown B — 18 Jul 2009

Now if like me you have fans of kevin tenney since Night of the Demons, Withboard and Witchtrap the you'll enjoy this film. If you love zombie zombies then again you'll love this film. If you are a fan of gore, you just might like this film.

I could go on but I choose not to. Brain Dead is in the vein of Night of the living dead, Night of the creeps, the Thing, and a few others. Good to see tenney return after such a long time. Try not to get this film mixed up with Braindead, the peter Jackson zombie opus because it not as gory although it is as funny though.

The gore effects are decent and there are different ranges in this film, the main one being the fact that heads get ripped open as these are brain eating zombies like Return of the living dead. The male lead Joshua Benton adds some humour to the blood thirsty script and becomes a likeable character that you want to see make it to the end of the picture.

Does he? Well you'll have to watch the film to find out. Now normally I don't like digitally made horrors but this one is an exception. Tenney's trademark flare is slighty lacking in this movie, but it doesn't make it a bad movie, because it's a decent one.

I shall be getting this for my zombie collection as I did enjoy it. it's funny and very gory. So rest your brain and sit back and enjoy it....just don't leave where the Brain Dead can get it.
