Review of Brad's Status (2017) by Marc L — 01 Oct 2017
I hated this movie. At 5 minutes in, I turned to my wife and said "I hate this movie so far." Maybe 10 more times throughout I repeated this. I especially hated Stiller's voiceover narrating his doubts and feelings about "the world", loving the world, hating the world.
I suppose what I really hated was Stiller's character, which is the whole premise of the movie. I found the whole thing repetitive, boring, wandering, plot going nowhere. No revelation at the end, the movie just ends.
This movie had the potential to be really interesting and thought-provoking because the themes are quite important. Coulda shoulda, in the hands of more thoughtful and competent film makers.
