Review of Brad's Status (2017) by R. W — 23 Sep 2017

This is a 2 star movie because it doesnt go anywhere. I dont know how it could get 81% from critics. They are out of touch. Or tools of the film industry. Brad's Status is 'unavailable'. It could have been so much more, but it decided not to be.

"At least I'm alive", Brad says. Oh yeah? That's it? All we learn from the endless voiceovers is that Brad is in his head too much and needs a shrink, or his wife, to talk things out.

Or, get back to nature, as a street musician laments. Brad succeeds only in alienating. Because he refuses to move. An imperfect film, and a cautionary one, of a stagnant inner and outer life, immobilized by comparing himself to a dysfunctional world.
