Review of Boyz n the Hood (1991) by Lucas Y — 21 Jun 2010
John Singletons best work to date. He creates a truly dark atmosphere set in the projects of LA. This is by a long shot Ice Cube's best performance & I'm so glad they cast Larry Fishburne. He sets the bar for the rest of the actors & nobody strays their own way.
The pacing of this film is perfect up until the last 20 minutes when they just throw in what I found to believe a very ineffective plot.
