Boyz N the Hood is a very powerful film. It's center is clear and precise, yet it wields so much suspense and dialogue-based depth that its message is disclosed in a variety of amusing ways. The goal of this movie is never lost despite numerous subplots, only adding to the reality and somber tones.
Cuba Gooding Jr. is marvelous in one of his earliest roles.
