Review of BoyTown (2006) by Terror A — 05 Mar 2007
This Aussie comedy is about a formerly successful 80's boyband called BoyTown who, after breaking up two decades ago, decide to regroup to reclaim their crown...despite the fact that they are all now in their forties.
The film's plot had a lot of potential to be a hilarious satire on the boyband phenomenon (just like how "This Is Spinal Tap" did it for metal) but sadly it doesn't deliver in its promise.
While the cast are okay in their roles but the jokes are cheap and unfunny. Plus the direction was prety flat. A very big disappointment but it does have its moments.
