Review of Boys on the Side (1995) by Rosalind H — 12 Apr 2012
This film was riveting, and though all the actors did a superb job (I loved every single character, and found them all believable), I cannot, for the life of me, understand why Mary Louise Parker did not win an Academy Award (or at least a nomination) for Best Supporting Actress, for her work as the HIV Positive young woman. She was so brilliant, and moving.....I cried like a baby in the last scene, where Whoopi Goldberg sings....
"Anything you want........you got it"........Tragic, yet still, a positive statement for the glory of the love that exists between true friends........
