Review of Boys Don't Cry (2000) by Lynn F — 23 Jul 2010
"Boys Don't Cry" is an extremely powerful film with Hilary Swank giving one of her greatest performances. The one thing I liked about this one in particular is that it doesn't give off that typical biopic vibe.
Kimberly Peirce only gives us the information we need to know, and artistically, she does it in a way that feels fresh and unpredictable. It takes a little while to get sucked into this film, but the ending will leave you awe struck for days.
"Boys Don't Cry" is a heavy ride, but it's a journey that's certainly worth taking.
