Review of Boys Don't Cry (2000) by Lilianetty L — 01 Sep 2012
My prof. of 'Director of a scene' (is a class about how to direct a play or a movie, very interesting) recommended to the class to watch it (not only because it was based on a true story, but of the way it was directed and the interpretation of the actors in it, which I find amazing and disturbing at the same time).
Why disturbing? Because at that time (and still today) people think that this is a sickness, that not getting the right orientation (sexual one) makes you get raped or killed. Come on! Really, it made me sick the last part of this movie because humans are a disgrace for killing demselves and not accepting what they are (respect those who want to live their own lifes as L or G).
It's a hard theme to discuss defenetly (I have friends like this and I accepted them as they are and they are amazing people). Dunno why people are homofobic really, is stupid. I just hope the next class the debate is wondeful and not a hateful one.
I remember watching the movie of Joseph Gordon Levitt (prostitute) and wow I cried of angriness (sorry, but angry is short for that). This actors really are priceless when they do risks like this ones.
Hilary for example did a HUGE RISK here, body and mind (psychological). I have seen a lot of her films but never knew she made THIS ONE (I admire her more now!). I DO recommend this movie for those who love the 7th arts and are obviously OPEN MINDED HUMANS.
PD: I do not hate the humans, I just want to understand why they act like that (against themselves for not thinking the same way). Then you ask: why we are animals yet and have not evolved? We have but some did not.
..anyway BLESS YOU ALL! PEACE & LOVE MES AMIS! CHAO!
