Review of Boys Don't Cry (1999) by David S — 24 Jul 2011
Boys Don't Cry is a very melodramatic drama that centers on gender confusion. One of the main problems in the films lack of popularity is the high number of viewers who would find it hard to empathize with Swank's character.
Regardless, the movie is brutally honest and up-front, not shying from its message and making sure the audience sees everything they should. It is difficult to not get a rise from anyone with this film, which goes to show the power it holds.
