Review of Boys Don't Cry (1999) by Luis O — 12 Jun 2012
I have been avoiding this film like the plague ever since Hilary Swank won the Oscar for her portrayal of Brandon. 13 years later this story seems so tamed compared to 1999, so it was a bit of a let down as far as the story line goes as I have seen further more shocking stories than this, yet for it's time, I'm really not surprised she got her Oscar and well deserved.
I'm glad I finally saw it. I just wish there had been more development on the undesirable characters, so that we as first time viewers could see the results and consequences on the bad guys, because it leaves you hanging as if nothing ever happened to them.
