Review of Boyhood (2014) by Krystal P — 01 Mar 2015

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. One sign of a great movie is when it's very long (this one is nearly three hours) but it never feels long. I could have watched this family's story go on for another couple hours.

I suspect many people will be turned off by this film because it is so far removed from what Hollywood normally serves up. This movie is outside the box. It doesn't have a climax nor an ending that wraps things up as we're used to. It really just follows a family around for twelve years. Sounds kind of simple and perhaps boring, right? I was riveted. I would have voted this Best Picture of 2014.
