Review of Boyhood (2014) by Eytan D — 30 May 2015
Though "Boyhood" tends to drag sometimes, it is truly revolutionary filmmaking. To watch actor Ellar Coltrane grow up the way he does on film is not only intriguing, but it's also exciting to watch the evolution of a really good actor.
The rest of the cast is really good too, particularly Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette (who won an Oscar for her performance). We can also tell that this project was very near and dear to director Richard Linklater's heart, and his direction is spot-on here.
Not the new classic everyone has made it out to be, but still a very good excursion.
