Review of Boyhood (2014) by Francis M — 10 Jul 2015
Arquette and Hawke shine for me in a random mess. The film focuses on this boy growing up, who naturally becomes different by stages to the point that he is so different, and from the beginning, as a viewer you know less about him, mainly as the performance was almost empty.
It is a brave attempt in one way, but seriously this film is flawed and has lost its way because of its own uniqueness, or a cheap gimmick.
