I didn't think I was going to enjoy Boyhood. The masterpiece behind this film is the casting. I think we've found a new star inside of Ellar Coltrane. Patricia Arquette is so good and I fully understand now why she won Best Supporting Actress.
Ethan Hawke was really good as well and the rest of the cast was great. All in all I wasn't blown away by it, but the fact this took 12 years and Linklater kept the same cast throughout showed the magic in this film.
It's a masterpiece within itself for that alone.
