Review of Boyhood (2014) by Logan A — 21 Nov 2015
In case you haven't hear, Boyhood was filmed over twelve years. Somehow, that's an accomplishment in of itself, even though many books and TV shows have been crafted over much longer periods of time.
If you factor out this aspect of the movie, what's left is a thin narrative about an uninteresting kid who grows up to be a pretty typical teenager. It's mundane, and any coincidental resemblance to my own life does not necessarily make for a more engaging narrative, at least on my part.
