Review of Boyhood (2014) by Jonathan M — 30 Aug 2016
This movie is beautifully filmed, directed, and acted. The film is layed out basically like a series of short films, filmed over the course of 12 years. Some may think that filming over the course of 12 years was just a gimmick, however, it really added to the feeling of attachment to these characters because you are literally watching their life as they grow up.
For example, (spoilers but this is kind've obvious) when Mason leaves for college, you almost feel like he is someone you know and it makes you reflect on the journey that he went through and in turn you went through.
This movie is an emotional joyride, much like life and no other film has truly captured life quite like this one. It is really a must-see.
