Review of Boyhood (2014) by Alan D — 12 Mar 2017
3 years later, I still have not watched Boyhood again, for fear that the impact will be as devastating as it was the first time. An amazing experience, one that stays with you, likely forever. 12 years in less than 3 hours is a grim reminder of our passing lives.
You watch a child grow up. You feel like his parent. You care. You hope he turns out well. A simple concept, a simple story but the end result is quite profound and quite devastating. I mean that in the best possible way.
Truly one of the great films of our time.
