Review of Boyhood (2014) by Ch J — 01 Mar 2016
This immediately became one of my favorite films of all time. I was transfixed in the theater as I watched the beautiful, rich, fleeting experience of one American childhood unfold on the screen. Life is a collection of little moments of joy, pain, success, failure, uncertainly, loneliness, connection, chance, circumstance, actions and reactions and that we cobble together in an inner narrative to try to understand who we are.
That is this movie. It is an absolute joy to watch it condensed in such a way that we can share a deeply personal (albeit fictional) experience so intimately with another human.
