Fails to emotionally connect the audience with the fictitious family over the 12 year span (spent both in the story and actual production) making the movie more of a time lapse experiment than an engaging story.
Nevertheless, Boyhood is an impressive achievement that contains moments of nostalgia, joy, and the wonders of life and growing up.
