Review of Boy Culture (2006) by Oh M — 19 Oct 2007
A definite look at the culture of gay men, from all points of view. this movie takes every gay movie angle [i.e. closet case, unrequited love, prostitution], rolls them into one, and weaves an a sharp narrative throughout to hold it together.
although the story is slow, it isn't boring, but rather very enticing and connected. fantastic acting by patrick bauchau as an aged, closeted romanticist, but the true talent here is derek magyar.
I am most likely partial to him because he isn't ugly, but he portrayed his character in the same manner that I would have, given that the character is so much along my mindset that it's almost kind of scary.
