Review of Boy A (2008) by Zach S — 23 Oct 2008
Emotionally gripping with heartfelt, and heartbreaking, performances from the ENTIRE cast. Garfield captures the quirky and sweet yet somehow odd and troubling personality of Jack perfectly. Mullan's performance as Jack's father figure/mentor is profoundly moving even in the simplest of moments.
The art direction is beautiful, the music fits perfectly, and each shot is meticulously crafted. It's always so refreshing to watch non-Hollywood films that actually treat their audiences intelligently.
I honestly have nothing bad to say. This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.
