Review of Boy A (2008) by Fardin H — 11 Nov 2008
Featuring two of the most indelible screen performances of recent years from Andrew Garfield and Peter Mullan, this British film is an effortlessly compelling exploration of one young man's struggle for redemption.
Directed by John Crowley with emotional clarity and a unique visual sensibility that is at once naturalistic and stylish, Boy A resists the temptation to simplify the messy complications that come with trying to establish a new life for oneself.
A sadly underrated film that deserves a much wider audience.
