Review of Boy A (2008) by Alex G — 12 Jan 2009
A very pathological exploration of one's inability to achieve redemption despite great effort. The final act is as emotional as it is entitled to be, while also having enormous respect for the subject matter and realism.
Also, the flashbacks being incorporated throughout helped retain the ambiguity of Jack's past, and the enigmatic exposition caused the denouement to be even more heartbreaking. I highly recommend this film.
