Review of Boy A (2008) by Spencer G — 14 Jan 2009
Extremely similar subject matter to The Woodsman, except for the fact that the two main characters are different ages and stages in their rehabilitation. I almost felt like this film had more substance but didn't even realize it, not taking full advantage of the characters and their situation(s).
The writing and directing was hit-and-miss but the acting was always strangely on point. The Woodsman is a much better film but this one might have a little more social awareness. Can't really decide if it was an okay film that I liked, or if it was a good film that I didn't really like.
