Review of Boy A (2008) by Dave R — 05 Apr 2009
There were a couple of things going on in this movie for me. on one level it's a very morally complex movie, raising such issues as: juvenile crime, paying one's debt to society and being given another chance, lying/concealing the truth and a lot of other things.
on another level it's a tragedy of sorts and you get those feelings that tragedies give you - you know it's coming but your just not sure how and when. also at the storytelling level, you have to wonder whether the flashbacks - shown from the protagonist's prospective - are reliable.
being a fan of good drama, I really enjoyed this.
