Review of Boy A (2008) by Jack G — 13 Jun 2011
'Boy A' is a daring and heartbreaking film. It challenges us to look past the crime, and to sympathize with the perpetrator, their reasons and remorse, before eternally condemning them as monsters.
If anyone can make us feel sorry for a killer, it's Andrew Garfield - he has both natural innocence and stoic intensity. Garfield's portrayal of his character's compunction as he tries to acclimate back into society is gritty and moving.
