Review of Boxcar Bertha (1972) by Charles G — 21 May 2009
There's more Roger Corman than Scorsese in this movie. It's an exploitation movie. Scorsese directs it as well as he possibly could have, but we should be glad that he didn't make a career out of these kinds of movies.
What makes it watchable are his (few) original shots and the performances by Barbara Hershey, David Carradine and Barry Primus. John Carradine makes a nice appearance as a filthy rich railroad man.
