Review of Bowling for Columbine (2002) by Tyler C — 24 Mar 2010
A fascinating look into America's love affair with guns and how that points to our constant echoing of fear. Unfortunately, Moore nearly destroys all his work with a cruel, ego-boosting interview with Charlton Heston obviously trying to paint himself as some walking, gunless savior and guilt-tripping an honest man.
He nearly contradicts himself by arrowing the blame onto Heston after making many clear points on how Americans are experts at pointing fingers when ever tragic events like Columbine happen. Still, the film speaks massive knowledge that needs to be heard and would be more effective if Moore wasn't such a smug, egotistical snob.
