Review of Bowling for Columbine (2002) by Keith C — 06 Apr 2012
Witty, stunning, provocative, ...and also a little misleading. This is a movie that should be seen by everyone, regardless of their political stance. Moore definately manipulated scenes and interviews to prove his point (apparently he took about a month to literally "set up" the bank scene where he acquires a gun in the space of an hour -- even taking second shots and instructing the bank management to bend their rules for the film and having them say specific lines, as if they were reciting a script).
While I still agree with much of the film's content and laughed at its many funny scenes, I have issues with Moore's tactics and the accuracy of this film. Also, I couldn't help but think it was the uncle of the first grader who didn't lock up his gun that Moore should have been visiting with that little girl's picture.
