Michael Moore makes a huge statement with this masterful documentary about America's violent gun culture, and whilst never offering a clear answer to his hypothesis - Why is the United States so violent? - he does delve into the issues her raises and sets out to make people (and business) accountable for their actions.

Throughout, 'Bowling for Columbine' provides a fascinating insight into America's culture and media, its paranoia and fears. Most effective are the servaliance footage of the Columbine shooting (accompanied by audio from the numerous 9-1-1 calls), the satirical summery of America's brutal past (brilliantly animated by Harold Moss), and Moore's comparisons between the US and Canada.

This consistently engrossing, moving and informative documentary is an exceptional achievement that shouldn't be missed.
