Review of Bowfinger (1999) by The Critic ( — 09 Aug 2012
With an exceptionally witty screenplay, this is a consistently fun look at the movie-making industry. As the title character, Steve Martin captures the essence of his character (a 49-year-old waiting for his big break in Hollywood) to perfection and it's nice to Eddie Murphy in fine form (as multiple characters) after a slew of disappointing roles.
Heather Graham and Terence Stamp also have fun with the material hand. 'Bowfinger' is a refreshing comedy that never loses interest.
