Review of Bound (1996) by Angadvir S — 14 Jun 2010
Stunning, smart, and sexy thriller from the Wachowski's. This film is pure cinema in it's highest form. The plot is complex and suspenseful and the characters are all intriguing and have a strong impact on the story.
Gina Gershon and Jennifer Tilly are spectacular as the two star crossed lovers who plan to steal from Joe Pantoliano, who is absolutely brilliant in his role. Pantoliano gives a standout performance which is not surprising since he's usually the standout in every film he appears in.
John P. Ryan is memorable as a primary villain in the film. The Wachowski's made this little gem before the groundbreaking science fiction drama The Matrix and they did a magnificent job with their film debut.
Bound is a masterpiece. Brilliant in every way. This is without a doubt one of the most suspenseful, exciting, and intelligent thrillers you're likely to see in your lifetime. A classic from the extraordinary minds of the Wachowski's.
