Review of Boulevard (2014) by Jaimey P — 03 Dec 2016
Boulevard is directed by Dito Montiel, and it stars Robin Williams in his last role about a husband who's not happy with his life, and when he come across a male hustler who's life is not looking good, he wants to help him and his life is starting to change around.
When seeing that this is the last film that stars Robin Williams before his death comes in, I'm curious to see how he end it with, and it's a good movie in the end for Robin Williams. The acting is great, from Kathy Baker and Bob Odenkirk, to Robin Williams who is the best part of the film.
He acts his character as a person that doesn't really like his life approach to it and just couldn't make the chance anymore for it, and he does it very well. When it comes down to the reveal of it, you see it coming, but it's interesting enough to be curious about how it came to it.
The chemistry between Robin Williams and Kathy Baker is very convincing, and with Robin Williams and Roberto Aguire together in scenes, I like that very much. The main issue that I have with it, is that there's not much to offer for this film that makes the movie very enjoyable to watch.
The plot, while a bit different than usual, still feels predictable. The writing is fine, but could've have more of a spark to it, and it doesn't really have that much going on, which would be fine, if it was really interesting, and it's not really that interesting.
I still managed to like it at the end thanks to William's performance that the film kind of depends on him, and it's interesting to see that a drama film manages to be his last movie out of all of the films that he's in.
