Review of Bottle Rocket (1996) by Ryan P — 29 Dec 2012
Bottle Rocket was an important movie for several reasons, namely because it began the careers of the Wilson brothers, and it was Wes Anderson's mainstream directorial debut. I have wanted to see it for quite some time, and I now know why so many people really like it.
Owen Wilson's character is flat-out hilarious, and the sarcastic humor throughout works so well. The film falters in a few places, but works as a whole quite well. For what it is, Bottle Rocket is well worth your while, if for no other reason, to see an actor of Owen Wilson's comic caliber in his beginning years.
