Review of Bottle Rocket (1996) by Matthew L — 16 Aug 2008
The Anderson style isn't as developed here, but that's one of the movies strengths, giving the viewer the opportunity to experience Anderson/Wilson's impressive writing without having to fully commit to Wes's aesthetic.
The film has a nice hangdog feel, and while it may be a little lightweight, it holds up very well over repeat viewings. It should also be noted that Owen's acting is inspired here.
