I'm sorry, but is there something a little retarded going on with these 'quirky' friends? An absence of laffs and charm dispel the 'Dumb and Dumber: the Art House Movie' effect so what we get is a pointless game in which we try and guess whether the actors are trying to keep a straight face or it is just a crap movie that goes nowhere.
By the end, I was waiting for some much-needed reality: a bank robbery gone wrong; a random drive-by or even Luke giving birth to a fourth Wilson brother were among many alternative conclusions I came up with.
Successful careers have been launched from inferior fare. This has been three of them.
