Review of Bottle Rocket (1996) by Scott M — 03 Nov 2010
Doesn't hold up relative to Anderson's other films. This feels like the work of a talented amateur, where films like Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Life Aquatic feel like the work of an auteur.
Owen and Luke Wilson play well off each other, but the fact that they're not playing brothers when they so clearly look alike kinda bothered me. Probably my least favorite Wes Anderson film, but given his filmography a very good movie would still be my least favorite of his films.
