Review of Bottle Rocket (1996) by Bryan M — 30 Jul 2012
The film never attains the emotional resonance of much of Anderson's later work due in large part to its single-minded comic approach to its lead characters. That said, the comedy is often laugh out loud funny, making the overall experience an enjoyable one.
Anderson's propensity for montage to music is already in evidence here, with the Stones 2000 Man sequence standing out as something that could fit comfortably in his later work.
